kunstarniki, are you familiar with Pages? It's a word processor which Apple released it last year as part of its iWork suite: http://www.apple.com/iwork/pages/ (http://www.apple.com/iwork/pages/). It is, alas, not free ($79), but it is another option.
I don't know what state Open Office is for OS X these days. In fact, when I was at MacWorld this year, I didn't even see a booth for them. (Okay, I didn't try to hard to look for them; but I didn't think they'd be that hidden, having seen them at the conference in previous years.)

Yet another option is to use a text editor. :) I've been a fan of BBEdit over the years. (And I use gedit on Linux, but, uh, I digress.)
