I totally agree, even if the show is trying to subvert the fridging, we can't help but see it reinforcing that.

I think it's interesting that Walker is depicted as having gone to a high school with lots of PoC, but that it didn't seem to help him see past his immense privilege or shape his behavior towards the Flag-Smashers/refugees, despite his Black Friends (the girlfriend, Lemar).
