Fandom librarians for the win?

Notice this thread of librarian convergence in the Doink! friending meme. Did I already know that there were so many librarians in Final Fantasy fandom? Is that unique to us, or are other fandoms filled with librarians also? Speak up, if you are out there!

I would go onto a tangent about why, but I'm running out the door for chorus so you are all spared. For now. ;)

Yep, I was on the info sci and systems design side of things.

So, what's your theory of librarians-in-fandom? I've met quite a few in FF fandom and have just assumed that librarians+fandom = of course!

I volunteered in a library when I was in high school. That counts, right?

I'm also of the opinion that, aside from my current job as computer tutor in the computer lab, working as a student in a library must be pretty boss.

I was a library student worker in college, which is what got me on the path to becoming a professional one. I enjoyed it a lot.

Librarians: we're geeky! I'd love to hear the tangent, because I also have thoughts about why are legion in fandom, but I am typing this on my phone and can't be long-winded at the moment.
