"I decided to return to the library and see what I could learn there. Besides, I like libraries. It makes me feel comfortable and secure to have walls of words, beautiful and wise, all around me. I always feel better when I can see that there is something to hold back the shadows."
-- Roger Zelazny, Nine Princes in Amber

My journal about life, writing, and whatever strikes my fancy to put here. Anyone who likes is welcome to subscribe, no need to ask. If our interests are at all congruent, and you introduce yourself, I'll likely subscribe back. I don't give everyone access to my DW, but I promise you aren't missing much (mostly ranting about work)). This is a fandom journal, and a writing journal, and a real-life journal, so anyone who reads it should expect to find a mixture of those things. My various IMs are all contact list only, but I'm generally happy to add people; just let me know.

"In the contemporary world, where things fall apart and the center cannot hold, you need to imagine a community where there is no center."
-- John Green, Brotherhood 2.0

Quick note on warnings: In general, you won't see warnings on my fic. This is mostly because I tend not to write stories containing the more common triggers. In the rare instances where warnings might apply, I will most likely use them, with one exception -- I choose not to warn for character death. I almost never write that either, but be aware that if I do, it will not be warned for.

"I am coming to think that language is in charge of everything. I am coming to think that there is no reality outside language. It doesn't matter what it is, really, as long as we know what to call it."
-- Jon Carroll, 8/5/1998
