GBP = Gratuitous birthday post. A post which has the sole purpose of wishing someone a happy birtyday. I snagged the terminology from peachespig. I haven't seen it anywhere else, which makes me think that he made it up, probably adapting it from GIP (gratuitous icon post, a post with no purpose beyond showing off a new userpic).
