denied!

There was a blood drive at school today. I've never given blood. It's one of those things that I've always had the idea that I should do (especially since my type is O-) (that looks like a really bizarre smiley on my screen) but never had a super easy opportuntity to do. This time, I had no excuses: a month advance notice, and it was happening in the classroom next door. So I prepared -- ate a large breakfast, cleared my schedule, etc.

Then they turned me away because my blood pressure reading was too high. I don't really have HBP (it runs a little high-normal), but I have white-coat syndrome (a tendancy to be slightly nervous around medical professionals). Now I'm wondering if this will happen every time I try to donate. I should try again sometime, but another excuse to not donate is not something I needed.
