Political process

So I have ranted in this space before about the California proposition system and how much I hate it.

We have had some ridiculous things come across the ballot before, but this one takes the cake: Proposition 91. It's a constitutional amendment that would require taxes relating to cars and gasoline to be used for transportation projects; I have issues with set-asides in general, but that's not what has me boggled this time.

Take a close look at the arguments for and against the proposition.

...

The official argument in favor of the proposition? Is a plea to vote no.

No argument against the proposition was submitted.

I'm tempted to vote for it, just to be perverse. Even though I have a feeling that my protest vote would not be taken in the spirit it was intended.
