Thanks! I'm glad you liked it, and especially that you think the characterization works -- that's always what I'm most concerned about, starting into a new fandom. I also enjoy creating and re-using good OCs, and Lelani pretty much jumped off the page at me as someone I'm likely to use again. (And yes: definitely planted Jihl for future use as well.)

Very good point about the world-building: the highly-controlled environments, the high technology. I've never written for a high-tech FF game, so I need to readjust my thinking about which tech is available. Now that you've pointed it out, there are some interesting character-development things I could do with that: Cid wondering about why Eden isn't keeping the AC running properly, consciously or subconsciously realizing that the "fresh air" he so relishes at the end is actually still controlled by the fal'Cie. Hmm.
