I just spent the evening engrossed in an excellent series of essays on Deep Space Nine, written by a fan of the series who went back to rewatch with a critical eye.
Asking the Wrong Questions: Back through the Wormhole
Recommended, especially the Ode to Kira. It's a fairly unflinching look at the series, and I don't agree with all of it (I liked Season 5 much better than the author did, for one), but it's an excellent overview of what DS9 did right and where it could have been better. Note: full of spoilers.
