The difficulty of predicting the future

I finished my re-read of A Feast for Crows last night, and I'll have more to say later, but what caught my eye was the author's note.

In which GRRM promised to have A Dance with Dragons out within a year.

Ha ha ha ha. Ha. Ha. Ha?

I meant to have them re-read for DwD, but I lent them out to friends after they got into the drama. I predict I will spend half the book trying to remember where everyone is at this point.

I largely made it because I read a lot of "Storm of Swords" on the plane flight to New York, and then a good chunk of "Feast for Crows" on the flight back. I had forgotten practically everything that happened in FfC...
