I really like the use of the fog created from clashing ice and fire spells. That is such a clever idea.
The farewell from Justice/Vengeance was good. It had seemed to easy, the final parting between Anders and this spirit. I like the way he was able to be analytical again, curious about the emotions and things he saw in humans. That seems a hopeful sign for him, since it is how he behaved when he was just Justice.
I like that Elissa's relationship with Alistair is so complicated and requires them to be so absent from one another. It's unpleasant for them, but I feel it is the only way I can believe in their relationship and it makes it stay interesting. Some other Cousland/Alistair stories I've read just come out too ideal and they're simply not interesting that way, especially when one considers how fraught with difficulty it is for him to have a relationship with the other female Wardens.
