Yep, FFX is still my favorite. It might be as much nostalgia as anything else, but that doesn't change how much I love it. And it's been so very long since I've played that I don't have the feeling of tedium that I might have had otherwise.

The bodies in Kilika are wrapped, so I dub that scene's evidence inconclusive. I think you're right about Home, though -- I'll have to keep an eye out.
