Oh, I LOVE the laughing scene. The whole point of the laughing scene is that it is *supposed* to be awful and awkward and just plain wrong. Remember, afterwards Wakka says "we thought you were going crazy"? And having that moment of awful, awkward, just-plain-wrongness together is one of the things that helps Tidus feel more connected to Yuna and gets him past the terrible shocks of learning that Jecht is Sin and that Auron was from Spira all along. I think it's really well-done.
