Yes. That icon is super cute, by the way.

[identity profile] luvmoose.livejournal.com 2005-11-08 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Another joint effort. I conceived it, [livejournal.com profile] grue23 executed it before I had a chance to.

[identity profile] owlmoose.livejournal.com 2005-11-08 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, excellent work. Both of you.

Maybe I should name her Phil.

[identity profile] luvmoose.livejournal.com 2005-11-08 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Phil? No. Nothing that I love can ever be named Phil.

[identity profile] grue23.livejournal.com 2005-11-08 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Now you have to name her Phil, to force [livejournal.com profile] luvmoose to be more accepting.

[identity profile] luvmoose.livejournal.com 2005-11-08 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
No, Phil has a specific history. No Phils.

That's what you get for going to lunch. :)

Am I too late?

Number four is 'There She Goes' by The La's

[identity profile] owlmoose.livejournal.com 2005-11-09 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
You are not too late. :) And you even got the same artist that I was thinking of! (This song has been covered by tons of bands.)

[identity profile] angeltaisha.livejournal.com 2005-11-09 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh I know! The first version I've ever heard was by The La's, and I was still in HS when the album came out. I loved it! Then all these groups covered it and I'm just a little picky about covers; I like some but mostly nothing to me beats the originals. [Although I really do like Warren Zevon's version of 'Knockin' on Heavens Door]

[identity profile] owlmoose.livejournal.com 2005-11-09 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I actually know it because it's on the "So I Married an Axe Murderer" soundtrack. :) I adore that movie -- it's fun, and there's a good collection of songs on the soundrack.

I like a good cover but it takes a lot for one to dislodge the original for me. Usually my favorite version of a song is whichever I heard first. Change is bad! ;)

[identity profile] angeltaisha.livejournal.com 2005-11-09 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
That is a really good movie! If you have a chance though, you should check out the CD by the La's. It's pretty good and the songs are kinda catchy, even if they only had the one hit. Yes, I am the same way; I am not a creature of change when it comes to music, and it does sometimes depend on which version I hear first. I've heard many versions of the song 'Both Sides Now' by Joni Mitchell and I have yet to hear one I didn't like- but I'm not sure if I've ever actually heard the original.

That's not ringing a bell... what song are you referencing?

[identity profile] anzubird.livejournal.com 2005-11-08 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
it's a Lucinda Williams song, but I'm, probably the only one here who might know it- funny things happen when you start hanging out with Texans...

[identity profile] owlmoose.livejournal.com 2005-11-08 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah. I know of her, one of the radio stations I listen to plays her music sometimes. But I don't think I know of that song specifically.

[identity profile] anzubird.livejournal.com 2005-11-08 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)
it's on Car Wheels on a Gravel Road, which is definitely one of her best albums.

[identity profile] peachespig.livejournal.com 2005-11-08 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
You're not the only one who knows LW - that's a fine album. I think I had "The Night's Too Long" from her self-titled album on one of my memes.

[identity profile] anzubird.livejournal.com 2005-11-08 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I sort of figured you might know her too.

[identity profile] luvmoose.livejournal.com 2005-11-08 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
8 is really close to "She's a Beauty" by The Tubes, but that starts "Step right up..." and now I can't think of anyhthing else.

It's 'There She Goes' by The La's
