This is the time I do end of year memes, apparently
Fandom year in review meme, snagged from
green_maia.
1. Your main fandom of the year?
Still Dragon Age, although I'm doing more and more with MCU all the time. Final Fantasy and Cinders continue to simmer in the background as well.
2. Your favourite film watched this year?
Of the films I've seen that were released this year, probably Catching Fire.
3. Your favourite book read this year?
The Spiritwalker Trilogy by Kate Elliott. I'm working on a co-review of the last book, Cold Steel, with
renay, so I won't say much more now, but seriously, so recommended. Also Fangirl and Republic of Thieves.
4. Your favourite TV show of the year?
Of shows currently airing? Either Elementary or Mad Men. The last season of Breaking Bad was up there, too, and I had a great time catching up with Parks & Recreation.
5. Your favourite online fandom community of the year?
In terms of time spent, it has to be Tumblr. But I have such a love-hate relationship with the place.
6. Your best new fandom discovery of the year?
I didn't "get into" any new fandoms this year, although I did devour a bunch of new content, mostly television shows. I wrote ficbits for Fringe and Sherlock, have happily meta'ed about both those shows as well as Sleepy Hollow and Elementary, and I have serious 'ships for Fringe and Parks & Recreation, but I wouldn't consider myself "in" those fandoms. Sleepy Hollow's fandom looks like the most fun of those to participate in. We'll see how the show goes.
7. Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
I wouldn't call them big disappointments, but I wanted to love Iron Man 3 and Man of Steel more. I enjoyed them both as I was watching them, but the more distance I get, the more I notice their flaws. Also Agents of SHIELD -- although I feel like the show got slowly and steadily better (until the most recent episode anyway), I know a lot of people disagree, so there hasn't really been any fandom activity around that to speak of.
8. Your TV boyfriend of the year?
Ben Wyatt from Parks and Recreation. And I am so invested in Ben/Leslie, I can't even tell you.
9. Your TV girlfriend of the year?
Four-way tie: Abbie Mills, Olivia Dunham, Joan Watson, and Leslie Knope. So many awesome women on my TV screen this year!
10. Your biggest squee moment of the year?
*Spoiler redacted* in Thor: The Dark World. If you've seen the movie, you know exactly what I am talking about.
11. The most missed of your old fandoms?
Final Fantasy X/X-2, as usual. I even replayed the games in hopes of recapturing my old momentum, but it didn't quite happen. I hope the HD rerelease will help.
12. The fandom you haven’t tried yet, but want to?
I'm not sure. Too many options, not enough time.
13. Your biggest fan anticipations for the New Year?
Captain America: Winter Soldier, with Dragon Age: Inquisition a very close second. Give them to me I want them nowwwwww. (Although with DA:I it's almost as much about how tired I am about the spoilers everywhere. I still have 11 months of this to go?) Also looking forward to the FFX/X-2 remaster, the last season of Mad Men, the next FogCon (Seanan McGuire is a GoH!), the Kiss Battles as always, and Sherlock Series 3.

7. Again, seconded. Iron Man 3 was SUCH a disappointment from what it could have been. As for Man of Steel, maybe I just wasn't as invested as I thought I'd be? IDK. Whatever it was, it really fell flat for me. I just don't think DC has characters that are as charismatic as Marvel characters.
10. Oh no, you gotta share! Even if you PM me, I want to know what part it was! There was SO MUCH that was good in this movie.
13. Yes to all things FFX. <3 Seems like we'll both be enjoying it this year. I am also looking forward to the Captain's sequel.

10. Well, it's more that if you know me, and which Marvelverse character I particularly love and adore and squee over, there is *one particular* moment in TDW that had me jumping with fangirl glee. Almost literally. ;) But I don't want to say here, because the surprise of it made it so much better. :D

10. I'm maybe fairly certain I know the character, because lots of people really adore said character, but the moment is what escapes me. That's why I suggested PMing it! :D
