I find this interesting because i've tried to tumblr a few times, and I always end up getting turned off by the very things that you dislike; added to my need to see All The Things, which necessitates spending hours a day, it means it's an unworkable platform for me. What's funny is that although my reading list is quieter, on a day-to-day basis, than it was in 2007-2008, I find that on average my reading list is also significantly higher quality to make up for the lack of quantity.
