Like you, I am very big keeping within canon characterization, but I'm okay with considering my game's canon "the" canon for that purpose. Does that strategy not work for you?

And yeah, my first Hawke isn't the one I write most often either, even though I consider hers my primary canon for gameplay (hers will be the story I first import to DA:I, for example).
