Actually I misremembered -- mine starts the 8th. And SF jury duty lasts a whole week, so maybe we will see each other after all. ;) I know that nursing mothers are allowed to postpone, but I don't know about pregnancy. My hope is that no one will want to start a jury trial that close to the holidays! Two years ago, I had jury duty the week between xmas and new year's, and I was not surprised to not be called in.
