I think it's okay to make exceptions that work for you to help you meet the goal! The whole thing is supposed to be a challenge, but it's not supposed to be prohibitive. I'm still trying to figure out how to handle artists in a way that doesn't require me to use math later on. XD I think it also depends on how much of your reading in the year is comics, too. If the percentage isn't very high, I would say it would be fine to leave it out and focus on books.
