Yep, that's exactly what I get from the October/Luna/Rayseline thing. The problem is that it's been too subtle for me?? Or at least each event or decline in their relationship feels disconnected enough from each book that I've had a pretty hard time following the thread. I really DO think it's me, especially since I didn't like the third book as much as everyone else. I bet when I reread the series (which I plan to do maybe next year before the next entry drops) I'll be able to see the threads more cleanly. But I agree that from book #3 to here Luna definitely has some issues. What makes it pretty heartbreaking is that it feels like the whole point was for October to be the one to rescue them after they were taken just so she could be gotten rid of and her relationship with them destroyed through her failure/death, and that Luna and Rayseline were just objects and tools for Evening. I REALLY DISLIKE EVENING I HOPE SHE SLEEPS 900 YEARS.
I really liked when October went and gave Rayseline the Choice and helped her, and Rayseline was cool but still snarky. It makes me a little sad that they won't have a chance to get back on good terms because they could have been great friends. ;___;
