Supergirl

Finally got a chance to watch the season premiere of Supergirl. An intriguing start to the season, and Tyler Hoechlin made a great impression as both Superman and Clark Kent. But...

Did they really have to break up my 'ship in the very first episode, after only making it canon at the very end of the previous season? I'm all for relationships going through natural evolutions as people change and grow, but this feels like a. whiplash and b. a cheap excuse to keep a couple with obvious chemistry from become a couple because network executives have the ridiculous idea that UST is more interesting than an ongoing relationship. I am so, so bored of that trope and wish it would die already. The love triangles and will-they-or-won't-they of last season got tiring really fast, and I was looking forward to not having to deal with it. Now I have visions of that all coming back, and it doesn't make me happy.
