Yes! That is a perfect example of the dynamic I'm talking about. Bad enough when the guys poke at each other, but so often it's the women calling them "girls" insultingly, and I hate that. One of the things that could have been great about Friends was the alternative models for masculinity that Chandler and Ross sometimes presented. Like when Freddie Prinze Jr. played a male nanny, and got Ross to talk honestly about his insecurities. They could have played that for both laughs and to break out of stereotypes. Instead they just went for the laughs, in the worst way possible.

I totally agree that Monica and Chandler had the best relationship on the show. They had their low moments, but for the most part they are loving and caring and supportive, and I enjoyed watching them grow together.
