I'm so glad it's able to be rebuilt. There was a beautiful post being passed around that was like: this is what Notre Dame is. WE rebuild it. It isn't what it started out being, but it still stands, and it can and will be rebuilt. Sure, it would've been better for the renovation/restoration to have been done sooner so this didn't happen--but maybe it's for the best.

But I've never seen it myself, so maybe my perspective is skewed.
