The Hidden World's business with the female Night Fury really grated for me. Hiccup/Astrid was cute, but I hated Hiccup going 'oh, obviously I have a moral obligation to push my friend away so he can nest with this dragon of the opposite sex he just met.' No!! Friendships are valuable too, and they and romance can coexist; friendship doesn't have to give way to romance!

That post on the female Night Fury's design is great; thank you for linking to it! The design bothered me in ways I couldn't entirely articulate, so I'm glad to see them articulated.
