DA:O report
Meet Devin Tabris.

Taken before the Joining. I wish one could get decent screenshots off a PS3, but for now iPhone snaps are the best I can do. Let's hope that the Mass Effect PS5 remaster sells well enough that they decide to do the same for the DA series.
Got through Ostagar and Lothering, took a detour through Soldier's Peak (I always get that out of the way first because the party storage chest is just way too useful), then headed to Redcliffe (a little past dealing with Jowan).
I'm still figuring Devin out a bit -- she is generally suspicious of authority, a little reckless but generally interested in helping people, and mostly gets along with humans as long as they aren't pissing her off. (The same could be same of most elves, really. I'm trying to decide if I can justify her siding with the werewolves, one of the two major recruitment outcomes I've never seen -- the other being annulling the Circle, which I don't see her doing at all.) At one point, someone asked her why she was helping out Redcliffe Village, and she said something about how she couldn't leave anyone to be killed by monsters. And I realized that was true -- especially when those monsters are also people. One upcoming choice I can tell you is absolutely coming: Loghain is toast, once Devin finds out about this selling the Alienage elves into slavery business. The homecoming quests are often my favorite part of the game, and I'm particularly looking forward to this one.
Companions: Devin hasn't flirted with anyone yet. The more I think about her reactions to the arranged marriage, the more I think it's not because she was annoyed about the arranged marriage and more that she's disinclined to get married at all. Somewhere on the ace spectrum, maybe? That doesn't let out romance, necessarily, if she's drawn to someone eventually, but it's not going to happen as quickly as at usually does with my play style. She is slowly gaining approval with Alistair and Leliana and is a bit in the negative with Morrigan (no change with Sten yet). Devin surprised me a little by not caring at all about Alistair's parentage, and also by accepting Leliana's help so readily. She believes in Andraste and the Maker, more or less, although she doesn't have much use for the Chantry as an organization (she didn't ask for Mother Hannah's blessing before the Redcliffe Village fight, for example, and she paid the tithe in Lothering purely as a way to get information from the Mother there). So while she doesn't really think that Leliana was called, the help from an accomplished fighter was welcome. She also appreciates Alistair's irreverence, Sten's stoicism, and Morrigan's unwillingness to take crap from anyone (even Devin). So ultimately I think she'll do well with this team, although she might not think much of Wynne. I look forward to finding out.
