That makes sense, but I'm still not completely comfortable with a major black character being killed not in service of his own arc, but to further a white man's manpain. If Battlestar were a woman, we'd say he was fridged. That said, my understanding is that the creator's entire goal with this series was to look at the role of black superheroes in our racist society, so I have hope that this fact won't go unremarked.
