If it had just been the cost, I would probably have bit the bullet and made it work -- I'm fortunate to have quite a bit of flexibility in my budget. But with so many other downsides, it just didn't seem worth it. I've officially registered for the virtual reunion and will find another time to see friends in person. Maybe I'll crash a reunion sometime before our next official one, in 2025.
