Farewell to The Magpies
One of my favorite podcasts ever aired its series finale today, and I'm both warm and fuzzy with contentment to have experienced a wonderful story, and so sad to see it come to an end. The Magpies is a Blades in the Dark actual play podcast with an all-female cast, both players and characters, the story of a vigilante gang that takes "be gay do crimes" to a whole new level. Blaire, Minx, Mayra, and their ever-growing found family take on the corrupt nobility and win, and it's such great, satisfying storytelling. I'm going to miss them so much.
But as one chapter ends, another begins, and thanks to a successful Kickstarter, the same cast and GM (along with at least one new cast member) will be starting a new podcast set in the same universe sometime this fall. It's called Project Bluejay, and I can hardly wait. If this sounds at all interesting to you, I highly recommend you keep an eye out for this forthcoming show.

Re: Podcasts
Keeping up with podcasts is extremely difficult now that I have no commute, but thanks for the rec! I'll check it out the next time I'm looking for longform audio media.

Alas! I have to be doing something else (driving, walking, cleaning house, making breakfast) in order to engage, but I understand how audio fiction wouldn't work for everyone. They do provide transcripts (not sure if they're caught up, but I know they're committed to transcribing everything eventually), so maybe you could check out the story that way?
