Stupid @#$%ing cliffhanger
I just finished the first season of Veronica Mars.
So who the bloody fucking hell is at the door?!!
Okay, don't answer that. But really. ARRRRGH. Of all the scenes to end on. Any ideas when the second season is coming out on DVD? I suppose I could just read all the TWoP recaps, but it's just not the same.
So glad that Keith is Veronica's "real" father. I was pretty sure that was the direction they'd choose, but I was happy to have my gut reactions confirmed. And the scene where Keith tells Veronica that was just beautiful. I almost cried.
Aaron Echols as Lilly's killer: interesting. Didn't see it coming. It would be interesting to go back and watch it all to make sure that everything adds up. I tend to say yes; I don't see any immediate holes.
Veronica/Logan is one of the most fascinating 'ships I've ever come across. The actors have undeniable chemistry. I can't decide whether I think it makes sense for the characters. In some respects, yes. In others, I don't know. They seem to have gone from mutual loathing to making out awfully quickly (I have never been a big fan of the "I hate you really means I love you" type 'ships), although to a certain extent Logan's grief for his mother helps explain the change. Relationship or no, though, I do buy Logan's redemption. The cameras seem to be his dad's thing, not his -- he may not even have known about them. Everything else is attributable to grief over Lilly's death and anger at Veronica for her father's role in the aftermath. When he finally accepted the loss of his mother and broke down in Veronica's arms, I totally melted, and the rescue/makeout session at the hotel was definitely squee-worthy. (Keith and Wallace's mom? Also squee-worthy. They are so sweet, so adorable. I was not sorry when Veronica showed Lianne the door.)
Any show that causes this depth of emotional reaction in me? Definitely a good thing. The highs, the lows, the murderous impulses (when Lianne took that check I wanted to reach into the television and strangle her) -- it's a wonderful ride, and I'm happy to be along for it.
So. Seriously. The second season. Where is it? Can't they just release the first half for us now? No? Grrr.

As to who's at the door...well, it ends up being really complicated. For the record, my own prediction about who it was ended up being totally wrong.
I'll be happy to spoil you to hell and back if your resolve weakens. :-D

I was afraid of that. If it were a simple "it's Logan, and she jumps him" or "it's Duncan, and she jumps him" (or "it's Weevil, and she jumps him", although I think that 'ship would be a bit of a stretch) then I'd probably want to know, but complicated I would rather watch unfold. Aaaaaah...
I'll bear that in mind. ;)
So, do you know if there's any word on whether the second season will be released on DVD before the third season starts? Or should I give up, thoroughly spoil myself, and start watching the second season now?

I don't know that it helps, either, but it's certainly interesting information.
