Hey locals! Tonight and tomorrow at 8pm, my chorus will be performing Brahms "Ein Deutsches Requiem" at Stanford Memorial Church. As far as I know, neither show is sold out. It should be a nice performance. Drop me a line if you decide to come so I can look for you afterwards.

If Mozart is more your style, mark your calendars now: Friday, May 19th. One night only, Mozart's Requiem. (I can already tell you this: that one will sell out. I'll post a reminder closer to the time.)

My feet are not looking forward to tonight (it's a fairly long piece, and we have to stand for all of it -- there is actually seating for once, but there are no breaks long enough to make it worthwhile), but the rest of me certainly is!

awsome, "break a leg". Got to do both the brahms and mozart -- both amazing experiences -- I am jealous! Have you sung Faure's requiem?

Have you sung Faure's requiem?

Yes, twice. Once with BMC/HC Chorale -- that was my senior year, so you were there too, right? And once with this group. I love that one, too, although I don't find it as amazing as the Brahms. This is my second time with the Brahms, too, and I love love love it. The sixth movement may be my very favorite piece of classical music ever.

Really excited for the Mozart; I've never done it before!

Wish I could be there. Damn this wide country. ;)

I was going to say, put on the CD at 8pm Eastern and you can be there in spirit, but that's a tad late for you, isn't it? ;)

Thanks anyway; I appreciate the sentiment!
