Notes: 100-word drabble. No baked goods were harmed in the making of this story.
The sound of chewing woke me. Opening my eyes, I discovered a half-eaten loaf of french bread on the pillow, flakes of crust littering the sheets, and I lifted my head to glare at the other inhabitant of the bed.
"What?" Gippal said through his mouthful.
"You're making a mess."
"Sorry, 'Lai. Got hungry, needed an early breakfast." His eye twinkled. "You wore me out."
"Flatterer."
He grinned. "Want some?"
I plucked the loaf from his hand and set it on the bedside table. "I'd rather have something else."
He lowered his mouth to mine, all thoughts of food forgotten.

(And, for the record, I put the french bread in just about every request I make. If it's not french bread, it's someone else's pants. ;) Maybe you'll get that one next time!)
