geeky librarian moment

I just learned that the Library of Congress has a call number subdivision for books about Star Wars:

PN 1995.9 .S695

Sometimes I love my job.

How much do we have to write before they have one dedicated to FFX2? ;)

Well, this would probably be for the whole Final Fantasy series, but:

GV 1435.35 .F36

I had to construct the last bit, but that's definitely where it would go.

No LC classification for fan fiction yet, although one has been proposed. I'm not sure where that would fall, probably in special topics in literature, PN 56 .F344 or thereabouts.

More than you bargained for? ;)

Not from you. LOL The completeness of your responses is one of the many sterling qualities for which I value you. ;)

Isn't it? I am continually amazed by which random topics some Library of Congress cataloger decided needed its very own call number or subject heading. It provides an endless source of amusement for me and the assistant librarian. Of course, that may just mean we're easily amused. ;)
