How red was my hallway?

This comes out a little more orangey on my monitor than it is in real life, but this gives you an idea.

So, any consensus? Cheerful? Horrific? Or simply a bit much?

I don't know whether the walls that are still white are going to be painted or not. If so, they might be painted red or it might be black. Also supposedly they are changing the carpet as well, which is a change I would welcome, no matter what they do with the walls.

Monday is going to be interesting....

Very sprightly indeed. As a matter of fact, I think it is a shame the actual colour is not the one in this picture. I like that shade very much. I have a hat almost exactly that colour.

Black walls might be a bit much unless one is heavily into Gothic. Well, anyway, good luck and do keep us posted. ;)

On your computer it might be reproduced more accurately. So perhaps the color you like is the color it is.

Black would be fine as an accent but I agree, all-black walls would be too heavy. Of course, I was talking about it with the studuent worker who was with me in the library and he was all enthusiastic about the idea of black. So maybe it would speak more to their target audience than red. ;)

Wow, that is... something, lol.

Very european -- where one doesn't shy from big colors in small spaces. I think the white should be painted red. Black would suck. But what do I know, I'm not in interior design. :)

I think black accent walls would be fine. The right-hand wall in that picture is actually an elevator core, so if they painted that black it would be just a spot of it, surrounded by red, and I think that could be effective. But then, I'm not in interior design either. ;)

Very summery indeed.

I like it okay, but not as much as I'd like other colors. If they paint all the walls that color, or add black walls, I'd start to find that too intense for daily viewing.

At last, a skeptic! ;) I definitely see this point of view. At least it's a hallway, where you wouldn't have to spend lots of time. There was some joking that the entire library was next, and *that* I think would be more than a bit much.

I can't tell from the color on the screen if it's on the side of orange which is cheerful and warm if a bit loud, or red which might inspire violence and anger. For your sake, I hope it's the former.

It is definitely not orange. The red is a warm orange red rather than a blue red, but there's no question about it being red.

The ID director made that same comment about red making people violent. I'd never heard that before, but it's an interesting thought.
