drabble for yuna_flowering

When Tidus and Yuna said their vows, everyone cheered and cried and so did Paine, a little. But she'd also secretly rolled her eyes, a little.

"Ever get tired of all this epic romance?" she asked Gippal as revelers swirled around them.

"Vilg yeah." He dismissed the whole business with a wave. "It doesn't always have to be true love that lasts forever."

She raised an eyebrow. "Prove it."

Once over his shock, he grabbed a wine bottle in one hand and her arm with the other. And in a secluded cove, he presented his proof, to both their satisfaction.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. :) Actually I tried to write this for the last Gippal/Paine request, but it never came together. Worked much better this time.

Heh, I love the way you let Paine be compromising. I mean, I like that she does cry a bit at the same time as she rolls her eyes. I like that she doesn't have to be completely contemptuous of wedding, because that kind of attitude isn't very kind and I think that being human she can have two reactions at once. I really like that.

I really like the way she voices her complaint to Gippal and all of the dialogue really. It's very well done indeed.

I just really aodre this as a drabble. It's excellently done: not a word wasted and you wrap it up wonderfully. It was quite a joy to read. :)

Thanks! Mostly I was just challenging myself to write something light and casual, which I almost never do, especially not when Paine and/or romance are involved. ;) This is one of those pieces that could really only ever work as a drabble, I think, and I am glad you enjoyed it. :)
