Evening

I am home from an impromptu night out, nice and relaxed thanks to healthy doses of wine, ibuprofin, and excellent company. R & S got a new dining room table after months of wrangling, and so they invited us to a "table warming" -- dinner and dessert (chocolate fondue, naturally). Other attendees were SE, SF, and plantgirl. Books ended up being a major topic of conversation, and I came out having made and received a number of recommendations.

Dinner parties are such a civilized way to spend an evening. We should host them more often.

I should point that I was invited, but I wasn't able to attend due to various mishaps involving fever and someone not calling his mother.
