La la la
Chorus actually started last week, but I was still too congested to sing, so my first rehearsal of the quarter was tonight. The main piece is a mass by Dvorak, the Mass in D, which I do not know. It's pretty, fairly simple, shouldn't be too much trouble to learn. And I generally like Dvorak. So it's good.
More interesting, in a way, is the other piece we're doing: a couple of selections from Handel's Messiah. Natually, "The Hallelujah Chorus" is going to be one of them. Like pretty much any choral singer, I've sung "The Hallelujah Chorus" any number of times, but I've never really had the opportunity to actually learn it. It'll be good to finally have that in my repertoire for real.
It's not the Brahms or the Mozart, but it will do. I guess I just got really lucky last year. And, as always, it's nice to be back singing again. Whenever it's not part of my life, I miss it.
