Back

I am back. Thanks to all who sent their best wishes and thoughts in whatever form. Both ceremonies were nice. The memorial service was well-attended; V was a pillar of her community, had lived there for over 30 years and was involved in many facets of life in the small town. Many kind and true things were said about her.

My aunt is holding up well enough; she was mostly upbeat throughout the day, kept herself moving forward. I pulled aside my cousin D (her son) at one point and asked how she was really doing, and he said as well as could be expected. I think the interment was probably the hardest for her, to see her mother laid to rest between her father and her sister. She's the last of her nuclear family, and they were a close-knit group.

I'm doing all right. It was good to spend time with family, even if not under the best circumstances. Thanksgiving is probably going to be pretty subdued, though. Maybe her not being there is what will finally drive home the fact that she's gone.

My condolences. *HUGS* We recently buried my great-aunt who was my grandfather's oldest sister and like a mother to him and the younger siblings. It was difficult for everyone.

Thanks. Condolences to you as well. These things are never easy, are they?

It is difficult sometimes to watch the wheel turn in its inexorable pace. If the one who has passed lived a good and satisfying life, we dare not be too sorry since the loss is ours, not theirs. Still, I understand how you will miss her presence at the family celebrations. Since this is the time of year when traditionally families come together, it is a difficult time to encompass a loss. One of my great grandfathers died on Christamas Day and the pain just seemed sharper because of the holiday.

May I ask if you know a person [livejournal.com profile] muggy_mountain? She has just friended me and seems to be connected to the Aron community.

*raises hand* Not to jump in, but I know Storyless quite well - she's very nice, really. She's more into the FFX fandom than X-2, and she leaves some of the awesomest reviews ever (seriously). XD also, that collab I mentioned - she's the co-author, so you can take that as you want. XD

I think you could get along with her well. XD

I always appreciate your input, Parron. Thank you for the information. To the best of my knowledge she has not read anything of mine. At least I have had no reviews from her. However, I have welcomed her to my FL and added her as well. She sounds like a very good person to know. ;)

*further pimping*

I love it when my friends know eachother - it makes it easier for me, somehow. XD Less "that person I know?" It's like being in a group instead of the center of a web! XD I pimp my friends out to everyone, to their chagrin. If it were up to me, all my friends would be friends with one another, too. *laugh*

Storyless is awesome, though. XD I don't think she's so into FFX-2, but she's good for talk and so on, too. And, hey, she drew KJ art, so she knows a little, anyway. (I feel weird talking about her like this, since there's a chance she'll read it) What else? Oh! She, KJ and I are the Official Kinoc Fanclub, which you can take however you'd like. *laugh* And yes, she is quite the Auron fan.

Thank you. I agree with what you're saying about a good and satisfying life. Sometimes hard to keep that in perspective, though.

I will second Parron's testimonial re. [livejournal.com profile] muggy_mountain. Especially today I can say nothing bad about her; she drew this fanart!

I have added the lady to my list in response and have left a comment in her journal. As soon as I looked at her profile, I realized she was not one of those serial adders but was a serious student of FFX and an acolyte to Auron. ;) Thank you for the recommendation.
