Yeah, staying away from fandom for fear of spoilers is a good idea. Staying away from fandom because it's goddamn crazy is another good idea. It's funny because in Harry Potter I was deeply invested in and partisan in the ship wars, but not in Avatar. In Avatar the shipping craziness that dominates the fandom is just tedious to me, and everyone deeply into it just seems to be missing the whole point of the show. Which is probably what us HP shippers looked like to everyone else!

But in Avatar as in HP, I really love all of the characters, and it just makes me sad when fandom demonizes one character or another for the sake of their ship. Avatar fandom is a bit younger than HP fandom I would say; it doesn't seem to have the prominent group of people our age.

But yeah, no Book 4: Air. Aang already knows that one, I guess. There will be a trilogy of live-action movies based on the three seasons, set to be written, produced and directed by M. Night Shyamalan, supposedly filming this summer (but who knows). I'm cautiously optimistic but you never know when an adaptation is just going to stink, so....

I just realized I have given you three straight Fire Nation icons. Flameo!
