How can anyone choose a pirate over a ninja, they're the masters of all forms of close combat and weapons and unlike a pirate you'll never know a ninja was there until it was too late.

As for context, the origins of the great pirate vs. ninja debate are lost to the mists of time. (Or, well, I just don't know them. But the question still intrigues (read: amuses) me.)
