The last concert was today. We did Bernstein's Chichester Psalms and a new requiem by a local composer (Brian Holmes). I liked them both a lot. I agree about new music being hit-or-miss -- the classics are classic for a reason, you know? I'm sure there's plenty of uninspired classical stuff that no one bothers to perform anymore.
The Carmina is a lot of fun, but I have to confess that I'm a little burned out on it. I've been in my current chorus since 1995, and in that time, we've performed it in three separate years, including this last Winter quarter. So hopefully we'll get a little bit of a rest from it.
