It is an interesting question. If you asked people to name a song by The Police, Family Feud style, would more people say "Don't Stand So Close to Me" or "Every Breath You Take"? It would almost certainly be one of the two, but which? Hmm...

I was thinking along Amy's line at one point. I actually don't think "Don't Stand So Close To Me" would give serious competition to the question of "most famous police song". I think it would be between "Every Breath You Take" and "Roxanne".

I would have answered differently if you asked for a Family Feud style... what comes to my mind first is often odd.

I probably would have settled on Every Breath You Take or Roxanne, personally. :)

I think this is the way that Family Feud gathers their data, how they get the answers to rank in the first place. That's what I meant.

I may run that kind of poll once I have the data gathered, to see if people's perceptions match. :)
