Conned!

I've been meaning to do this forever (and sadly missed the early registration rate), but I finally stopped procrastinating and registered for next year's FogCon. I also bit the bullet and decided to book a room in the hotel this year -- I can always cancel if I decide I don't want to be gone from home for two nights. It seemed kind of ridiculous last year to get a hotel room for a convention happening in San Francisco, but a) I thought it was a little bit isolating to not be part of "con space" for the entire duration of the event and b) the con is in Walnut Creek this time, which is a decent drive or longish Bart ride away, and that would kill my ability to get there for morning panels and such.

I checked off some scary boxes (like "sure, tell me about panels" and "sure, I'm interested in volunteering"), so we'll see what, if anything, comes of that... It also took me far too long to decide what name I wanted on my badge, and what name I wanted published on the attendees list. Maybe that should be a topic for the meta project I'm so far failing -- fandom names versus "real" names and which identities we use when and where.

But I digress. FogCon, coming in March! Barring unforeseen circumstances, I will be there. Looking forward to it.

Awesome! I'm going, too!

I have utterly failed to keep straight the linkages between dw folks I know and people I know in the flesh--do I know you?

Oh goodie! I think we're going to have another great con. And the hotel is fabulous.
