temptation

Since I take the Bay Bridge to get to work, Interstate 80 is part of my daily commute. I-80 starts on the Bay Bridge and goes almost all the way to New York City, and it is a secret ambition of mine to someday drive the whole thing, end-to-end, in a single trip.

Some mornings, I am tempted to just keep going.

Not to escape my life, particularly; it's a pretty good life, all things considered. But to do something really out there, chase a crazy dream for once. I'm not so good at that sort of thing. I wish I were.

Does Route 66 even really exist anymore?

"Get your kicks on I-40" just doesn't have the same ring, alas...

Of course it exists....it winds from Chicago to L.A....almost 2000 miles along the way...

I did some poking around... you're right, it does exist, but it's not marked on maps and it isn't always signed. So following it would be much more of a challenge than driving on I-80. Hmm...

Part of it is the street my school was on, it's signed around that area. :)
