When you say that you aren't sure why Spira and Ivalice are your two main FF fandoms
Oh, sorry, I was unclear there. I meant to say that I haven't connected to the world and characters of Mass Effect as much as I did to Dragon Age, Spira, and Ivalice. As to why, as it happens I have a question about that later in the month, so I'll hold that thought for now. :)
I think you are absolutely right as to why I connected more to Spira and Ivalice than to the other Final Fantasy worlds: they are the most fully realized, and had the strongest plots.
I enjoy good game mechanics and game play (and had the exact opposite experience with playing DA:O on the PS3 vs the PC (Mac in my case)), and good game mechanics and strategy are fun -- I like solving puzzles and playing good mini-games. But yeah, they aren't the reason I play the games.
