I do have a soft spot for Peter David's run on Captain Marvel (with Mar-vell's cloned son or something or other WHO CARES IT'S MARVEL COMICS IT DOESN'T HAVE TO MAKE SENSE) but ONLY because he set up such a wonderful allegory between a superhero gone horribly, horribly wrong and Hitler - and then *answered* the age-old question "If you could kill Hitler as a baby, would you?"
However, that is very much for the story not the character. If they screw up this Captain Marvel, yeeeeeeah, I'd be pretty damned pissed.
Did they announce whether it was Carol Danvers or Tabitha Smith? Because I am going to be so excited either way, I'm not sure I can even express it without vibrating through the furniture.
(I am joining you in the "Please don't let it suck!" camps, because oh god if this goes wrong the entire internet is going to come down on them like a ton of bricks.)
Carol Danvers confirmed, although no casting announcement yet. I don't know Tabitha Smith, and if they made a movie headlining one of the male Captain Marvels, the entire universe could not contain my rage. ;)
