Specific goals:
1. Try to write every day except when traveling. I missed two days, but then I wrote a few short fiction reviews while I was on my trip, so it all evens out (in terms of the numbers anyway).
2. Finish and post the Trope Bingo story, ideally before the end of this week. It took two weeks, but I did it!
3. Write and/or flesh out at least two scenes in Wardens of Ivalice. Only worked on one.
4. At least one post for Lady Business -- I'm doing a research project for a friend that's given me an idea for a post of my own, and I'm actually excited about it. Unfortunately, the research didn't pan out, so no post, and then I was struck by a different research idea that worked out better, but I didn't have time to finish the post before I left on my trip. So that's a miss altogether.
It's also time for a mid-year check of my annual goals.
1. Complete the Journeyman Habit Pledge (240 writing days) for![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png)
getyourwordsout. Stretch goal: 288 writing days, which is about halfway between writing 5 days/week and 6 days/week. I'm still a bit ahead of the official goal post but remain behind on my stretch goal, although I've caught up a little bit from where I was in March. But it's not unusual for me to write more in the second half of the year than in the first, and I expect to have less travel coming up. So I'm not too worried.
2. Complete and post Wardens of Ivalice, Part 3. I've worked on this at least a little every month, and I plan to make it my major fiction project for the next couple of months at least.
3. Participate in at least two fic exchanges and one Big Bang. I've completed two fic exchanges but have not yet found a Big Bang, and time is running out on that. Who knows, maybe I'll have to run one. (Just kidding.) (Mostly.)
4. Two media reviews or other substantial articles each month for Lady Business. (I'm probably going to tie this one to my reading goals.) Set a schedule for one political linkspam every two weeks, and stick to it. As mentioned, I've ended the linkspam project. I continue to not write many LB posts and adding this to monthly goals hasn't done the trick. I need to think about how to motivate myself.
5. Finish every new story I start in 2018. So far so good! (Now journal posts, on the other hand...)
Overall I'm actually okay with all my progress here, despite the major goals I am missing. (We'll see if I still feel that way when I check in on my reading, either later today or another day this week.) Goals for July:
1. Write an average of 6 days per week.
2. Make substantial progress on Wardens of Ivalice - draft at least two scenes, plot out at least two more.
3. Write two posts for Lady Business (both started: a Hugo reading roundup and the results of the research project I've been doing).
4. Find a Big Bang or other longfic challenge to join.
