Happy Episode IX Day
I sat down at my computer do to other things, and then somehow ended up watching the Star Wars Celebration panel on Episode 9 instead. (YouTube isn't letting me share a link that starts partway into the video; the content proper begins at about 18:59.)
I have also watched the teaser trailer several times, and, well. Yay!
Rey taking on Kylo Ren's ship with only a lightsaber is totally my jam. So is the knowledge that this film is set some time after the events of The Last Jedi, which gives the story some room to breathe, and the fandom some space to write fics about the new generation running around the galaxy having adventures in the Millennium Falcon. I was even more excited to see Lando than I thought I would be. It took me two times through to notice that the final shot showed wreckage of one of the Death Stars. I have to imagine it was the first? Maybe we are going to see more of Yavin? That's exciting. "The Rise of Skywalker", hmmm. Does it refer to Kylo Ren? Luke's legacy? Leia, somehow? It's intriguing, anyway. Also Palapatine's evil laugh at the end gave me chills. OMG we have to wait until December???
