Is it cheating if you remember a bunch more lyrics of the song than is posted but can't remember the actual song and it's driving you nuts so you google the lyrics that you do remember (but not the ones that you posted)?

I figure it probably is, so I'm not posting the answer, but I remembered most of C. I never would have remembered the band's name, however.

Hmm, this is a good question. Technically, Google is not allowed, but this seems to me more comparable to listening to songs that you think might be right to jog your memory. I think I may ask my elders in song meme preparation for a ruling on this one.

Okay, I have consulted with the jury, and the consensus is that any use of Google is disallowed. I've decided that I agree, so I'm afraid I can't give it to you.

One suggested solution, if you are running into this situation and still want credit, is to share what you think are the next lines with whoever is running the meme to learn whether you have the right song in mind.

Perfectly all right. That's what I expected. I usually don't end up answering many of these because if I know it and I don't remember it pretty quickly, it begins to bug me and I have to google it or I go (more) nuts.

Totally understandable, I've done that, too. :)

Happy birthday!!
