The Sam and Bucky Show: Ep. 2

Now we're talking.

I'm not convinced it was smart to wait a whole episode to put Sam and Bucky together, because damn, how much is this exactly what I was hoping? The banter, the prickly chemistry, the shared bonding over how much they miss Steve (even though neither of them is willing to come out and say it), how well they work together despite the arguing, how obvious it is that they will continue to team up no matter what they say now in couples therapy. I loved that scene: how Bucky opened up to Sam about his feelings around Sam's choice to give up the shield, how Sam isn't yet ready to reciprocate and explain the real reason for his decision. On paper, I would never have expected Bucky to go first, but in reality it makes so much sense.

Isaiah Bradley is a wonderful, wonderful addition to this story and I hope we see more of him.

Not quite sure what to make of the Flag Smashers. Are they the villains? Are the guys in cars the villains? A little bit of both? Who were the guys in cars? Who made more supersoldiers and why? Given how short this series is, I have to imagine we'll get answers sooner rather than later.

I really do not want to like fake!Cap. At first I felt like they were tugging us in that direction, especially with the scene in the locker room, but then his interactions with Sam and Bucky were not promising. However, I did laugh a lot when I realized the marching band was playing "Star Spangled Man With a Plan" -- looks like John Walker also gets to pay his chorus girl dues.
