The Sam and Bucky Show: Ep. 2
Now we're talking.
I'm not convinced it was smart to wait a whole episode to put Sam and Bucky together, because damn, how much is this exactly what I was hoping? The banter, the prickly chemistry, the shared bonding over how much they miss Steve (even though neither of them is willing to come out and say it), how well they work together despite the arguing, how obvious it is that they will continue to team up no matter what they say now in couples therapy. I loved that scene: how Bucky opened up to Sam about his feelings around Sam's choice to give up the shield, how Sam isn't yet ready to reciprocate and explain the real reason for his decision. On paper, I would never have expected Bucky to go first, but in reality it makes so much sense.
Isaiah Bradley is a wonderful, wonderful addition to this story and I hope we see more of him.
Not quite sure what to make of the Flag Smashers. Are they the villains? Are the guys in cars the villains? A little bit of both? Who were the guys in cars? Who made more supersoldiers and why? Given how short this series is, I have to imagine we'll get answers sooner rather than later.
I really do not want to like fake!Cap. At first I felt like they were tugging us in that direction, especially with the scene in the locker room, but then his interactions with Sam and Bucky were not promising. However, I did laugh a lot when I realized the marching band was playing "Star Spangled Man With a Plan" -- looks like John Walker also gets to pay his chorus girl dues.

I'm with you on the Flag Smashers. Show started out gently nudging us to treat them as bad and fake!Cap as good, and I'm going to love it if it's a bait and switch.
I loved that version of Star Spangled Man, but I am a notorious marching band geek. I'm going to see if it's available and bribe out community band to get it so I can play it.

I admit I'm not sure about the Flag Smashers, because while I understand where they're coming from, I can't be on board with either their methods or the fact that they seem to be focusing at least some of their resentment on the people who came back, who have literally no control over the situation.
The situation with fake!Cap is also interesting, because I'm actually not sure whether the show wants us to like him or not. I really want to see how that develops!

Under "Fictional Character Biography: Patriot":
"Isaiah is also the grandfather of Elijah Bradley (aka Patriot of the Young Avengers)."
Under "In other media":
"In the present, Isaiah lives in a Baltimore neighborhood with his grandson Eli where it was mentioned by Winter Soldier to Falcon that he never told Captain America about him."
DO I SMELL ANOTHER YOUNG AVENGER?

I totally had the same thought about Elijah! I haven't read the Young Avengers books but I certainly see them quietly putting those characters in place. I suspect a Disney+ series is more likely than a movie, but either way I hope we see it.

(like I've spent 3 hours poking at it off and on. XD)
